BORDGENOTEN launches in Wageningen — and you can help

It's happening: BORDGENOTEN is going from an idea to real tables. And we're starting in Wageningen and the surrounding area.

Why Wageningen?

Wageningen is small enough to keep running into each other, and big enough that you're far from knowing everyone. It's a town of families, students, older residents and lots of internationals who came here for the university and research institutes. People who are often open to new connections, but don't always know where to find them.

Exactly the place where a set table can make a difference.

You can't start a platform like this on your own

A new platform for eating together has one challenge: no hosts means no dinners, and no guests means no reason to host. That's why we're first building a group of people who want to take part, through the waitlist. Once there are enough hosts and guests to fill the first tables, the doors open.

The more people sign up, the sooner that moment comes.

How it will work

• Hosts cook at home for a small group and list their dinner on BORDGENOTEN.
• Guests request a seat and briefly introduce themselves. The host decides who joins.
• You only pay your share of the food, directly to the host. BORDGENOTEN takes no commission.
• After dinner host and guests review each other. That's how trust grows within the community.

How you can help

1. Join the waitlist and confirm your email address. Without confirmation, your sign-up doesn't count yet.
2. Let us know if you'd like to host. Hosts are the heart of BORDGENOTEN. Love cooking for others? Then we're extra happy to have you.
3. Bring someone along. Share this post with a neighbour, colleague or friend who'd also enjoy sitting at a different table now and then.

We'll keep everyone on the waitlist posted as soon as the first dinners can be planned. Until then: thank you for being here from the start. Without you, there's no table.
